Start Impress 1. on right hand pane select tab "Slide transition" 2. switch window to non-maximized state and reduce size to approximately half of screen hight in 3.3.4: impossible to select transition in 3.5.4: situation depends of with of this pane. If with is about 9 cm or 400 pixels, then all looks correctly. If width is more narrow, then field where transitions should be selected becomes so low of hight that there fits only one variant of transitions. Very unhandy. IMHO this dependence of UI from pane width may be improved. Field where transitions variants should have minimum of hight more than 1 row.
