I did up-rev to 5.1.3, & after that I was able to open the spreadsheet. Since
I don't know why LibreOffice was crashing, I don't know whether this is a fluke
or whether the problem is fixed.
I had previously tried to update, using Help->Check for updates, & it told me
that LibreOffice was up to date; so until I entered the item shown above, it
hadn't occurred to me that there might be a newer version. Why would it check
& then tell me I was up to date, when there was a later rev? I'd have to call
THAT a bug!
