Reenabling them let to the wrong behavior again. There's one suspicious setting, that was disabled, but after toggling(!) this option: "use automatic font color for screen display" and restarting loffice, the font color appearance was fixed. Enabling this option, it resulted in the wrong behavior. For some reason, this option was not handled correctly (probably during config upgrade). It was enabled behind the scenes without being displayed as such. Unfortunately, I've no config backup, but get my hands onto another system in the next few days, which suffers from the same issue.
