2 things you can do:
1) rename your LO directory profile (see
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile#Mac_OS_X) and give a new try
2) try last stable LO version 5.1.4
At worst, you can uninstall 5.1.4 and install again 4.4 version.
