I'm not convinced, that this solves the original problem, as a not-successful
search doesn't terminate my running LO. Even more: *after* an executed search
(successful or not) I can harmlessly abort a newly opened search-dialog with
ESC. Did you try the steps from the bug description after applying the patch?
