Excel xls file with many images (truncated file for testing)

I am setting this up as a new bug report because it is a bit different from Bug
100442.

I am running LO Calc Version: 5.1.4.2, and MS Excel 2007 (12.0.6750.5000) on a
customized MSI Gaming Laptop with the following specs:
  Processor: Intel Core i-2760QM CPU @ 2.40GHz
  RAM: 16GB
  OS: Win7 64-bit

[NOTE: I have NOT tested this on my Linux edition of LO Calc.]

I originally became involved while answering a post on ask.libreoffice.com (see
https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/74060/unable-to-open-xls-file-in-lo-calc/?answer=74199#post-id-74199).

The xls file supplied by the OP had many images and 3,033 rows. File size was
34.5MB. Excel 2007 could open the file but LO Calc would crash after trying.

After some tests and exchanges with the OP, I truncated the file to 651 rows
for your testing. File size is 7.32MB.

At 2,000+ rows, file open is quite slow but succeeds. As you approach 2,500
rows, file open fails.
