Bug #: 50714
Summary: PDFs exported by LibreOffice cannot be converted by
ps2ascii
Classification: Unclassified
Product: LibreOffice
Version: LibO 3.5.4 release
Platform: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS/Version: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: medium
Component: PDF export
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [email protected]
I don't know if this is a bug in LibreOffice or GhostScript:
I used to use OpenOffice 2 and when I exported PDFs, their text could be
extracted by using ps2ascii. I upgraded to LibreOffice 3.5.4 and now ps2ascii
stopped working. When I create a text document containing "test with text" and
run ps2ascii on the exported PDF, I get:
**** Warning: Encoding not present.
**** This file had errors that were repaired or ignored.
**** The file was produced by:
**** >>>> LibreOffice 3.5 <<<<
**** Please notify the author of the software that produced this
**** file that it does not conform to Adobe's published PDF
**** specification.
