Yes that started the same but went awry, lets give it a see also and
concentrate here.
Don't we have to do more work in poppler-cairo in the import filter to pull the
fonts out? Something has been missing from the PDF import filter since
implemented if Evince, Okular even ImageMagick, and GIMP have no trouble
extracting the fonts. Interestingly Inkscape also chokes on the subset and
substitutes.
