Bug ID: 101607
Summary: LO Writer Losing saved files
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.2.0.4 release
Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
This problem commenced earlier in 2016 when using Windows 7 64Bit but was
worked around. Updated to Win 10 (easy smooth installation) and the problem has
continued but with seemingly no ability to work around it, now.
This concerns LO 'Writer' , when I click on an .odt or a .docx file saved on
the desktop I will get a drop down menu (Document Recovery). The same file name
is always shown and never the file name I wish to open. I proceed as instructed
and commence the recovery process .... and the file name chosen comes up
correctly and without any errors or format changes.
Calling up a file name from the LO 'Writer' listing with the thumbnails shown
and some files will still open. Others come up with the phrase "file does not
exist". This is identical for both .odt and .docx files. The thumb nail image
then disappears into oblivion and there's no obvious access to the file
actually chosen. It's not in the Recycle box either.
I should say that I use Kaspersky anti virus software that is up to date and
run at sensible intervals. Also CC Cleaner and I use Firefox in conjunction
with my search engine (Google) Rarely do they throw up any alerts. Currently I
think my computer is 'clean'.
This is now becoming an increasing problem for me and as I do not have either
knowledge, experience nor therefore confidence to fiddle with computer settings
I need to be lead gently to resolve this problem.
Can any one offer a solution, please? Thanks in anticipation!
