Sure why not ? Are you offering to code this functionality or know someone who
could ? That would be very helpful.
You can already manually set various actions for a push button control object
via the object's properties, as indeed the toggle status (pressed/unpressed),
adding a background image, etc.
Much of this is even possible via LO Basic macro programming.
The change of appearance of the button would require more advanced programming
skills from what I understand, by someone familiar with the drawinglayer code.
