Yes, you have to use the default GTK3 backend.
I roll my own builds. The earliest build that I have is
Version: 5.2.0.0.alpha0+

My most recent build Version: 5.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: 619d5fceada2df7c7bc915cea51779fd115d0fcd
They are both affected by this bug. Is there anything else you need?
