-- the file has always been in Libreoffice .ods format within Linux Mint. It
was created 5 or 6 years ago, and has been in continuous edit at least once a
week over that duration. I have been using Mint since about version 9, and have
upgraded to each new Linux Mint 64 bit Mate as it came out, and used the
version of Libreoffice that shipped with that version of Mint.The failure came
with an upgrade of one of my computers to Mint 18.
"What is the LibreOffice version provided by Linux Mint 17.3 ?"
-- I don't have access to my 17.3 box but will in a few days. I know 17.3
included a 5.x.x version of Libreoffice.
