which desktop environment are you using? Is the key combination <Ctrl>+<F8>
used there for an action? On my system (Debian Testing AMD64 w/ XFCE 4) I would
switch to workspace 8 with this key combination (so the shown shortcut for
"View - Highlighting Values" does not work as well. But you can either change
it via "Tools - Customize..." and then on the "Keyboard" tab or change it in
your DE/DM settings, if it is used there).
