You are using "5.3.0.0.alpha0+" under a different OS.
Did you try with the attached document or a new document?
I am trying http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86@42/,
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86@42/2016-10-10_06.29.01/libo-master~2016-10-10_06.29.01_LibreOfficeDev_5.3.0.0.alpha0_Win_x86.msi
to be exact.
But it is still the same, I cannot select the "P" text box of my attached
document. It only activates the cursor so I can type or marks the "P", but the
box around the "P" is neither visible or selectable. And when I think it should
be the text box, it moves the whole blue rectangle along with the text box.
It is like the blue rectangle is the text box instead of the text box being
it's own object which I created AFTER putting the blue rectangle there.
When creating a new document, making the rectangle, create the text box and
move it before entering any text, then it behaves as expected and stays
selectable afterwards.
