             Bug #: 51228
Summary: Allow connection to spreadsheet with relative path
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: LibO 3.5.3 release
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Database
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

LibreOffice 3.5.3.2
Build ID: 350m1(Build:2)

(Note: I have dutch l10n, so strings below might not be correct.)

I want to connect a database with a spreadsheet in the same directory. It is
understandable that when making the database with the wizard, an absolute path
is required, since the database doesn’t exist yet. But I want to be able to
connect it to a local file. So:

Edit -> Database -> Properties
Change the path to just the filename.
(OK is accepted, but afterwards the database doesn’t work. This is subbug 1.)
The real bug occurs when you hit ‘test connection’:

SQL-status: HY000

Het bestand file:///Lehrplan%20Mathe%20Haarlem.ods kon niet worden geladen.
(English: the file … could not be loaded)

De poging om het bestand in te lezen geeft volgende foutboodschap
(com.sun.star.lang.IllegalArgumentException):
(English: The attempt to read the file gives the following error …)

Unsupported URL <file:///Lehrplan%20Mathe%20Haarlem.ods>: ""

Please make this possible. It makes databases more portable. In this case, I
want to send the database and the spreadsheet and a text file that references
its fields to colleagues to use. It is unwanted that they would have to either
create the same directory structure or edit the database file to re-register
the spreadsheet.
