Always trying to find generic solution I'd rephrase the task to never
select/deselect per right click. In the particular case, the table works as
expected but when you right click the document (header here) the focus
switches. Ultimately my rule means that, for instance, scrolling down some
pages you first have to select (click) a paragraph before the context menu can
be accessed for what you see. And that would be definitely wrong.

tl;dr: When the row/col selection arrow is active, a right click should be
forwarded to the table.

You mean the selection arrow. Yes, having an auto selection is a good idea -
and solves perhaps the issue.

(needsUXEval to get more input; should be removed for implementation)
