I did install 5.2.2.2
I do not know what shell extensions are and dont know if I have any installed.
After installing the updated version I tried to open various documents:
The first document I double clicked on was from an external My Passport drive.
The program locked up.
I forced a close and restarted
I double clicked on the same file and it opened just fine.
I then double clocked on a document from my thumb drive or flash
drive...document opened just fine.
I then double clicked on a document on my My Documents directory and the
program locked up
