Bug ID: 103708
Summary: in Impress slides pane selecting a slide doesn't show
it on every second click, instead runs different
actions on it, occasionally even deleting it
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.2.3.3 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Impress
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
In Libreoffice Impress in the slides pane I create 3 slides. Clicking on
non-selected slides is supposed to select the slide and display it in the main
window. Instead, on every second click, the slide clicked isn't selected and
displayed, but a small paper icon on the top left of the window is displayed
which floats to the clicked slide. Occasionally a slide is even deleted just by
clicking / selecting it.
Happens every SECOND time clicking a slide, so it's quite reproducable. Though
every other second click the slide clicked is selected as expected.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Run Impress
2.Create three slides, title them slide 1 to 3
3.in the slide pane on the left by default click a slide not selected over and
over again
Actual Results:
alternating behaviour, fist click slide is selected, next click it isn't, every
second click the clicked slide isn't selected as expected, occasionally and
quite frequently, thus reproducable, a slide is even lost, then in the
Edit->Undo menu the action to undo is "Delete Slides"
So on every other click, a different action is taken then selecting and
displaying the slide clicked.
Expected Results:
Select the clicked slide and display its content in the main window in the
middle.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes! I even tried maximizing memory resources and fiddled
with some options in the config. No effect on the misbehaviour.
Additional Info:
I have seen this bug a long time now and I cannot find any reports on it. I
tested on a windows machine with libreoffice 5.2.1 and it hasn't been there,
but on linux it is. I am not sure wether this bug is actually caused by
libreoffice or something else. Most likely it's libreoffice but I have no clue
why it would only occur on my linux system.
I am running Archlinux latest update with X and the Awesome window manager.
Using other window managers / desktop doesn't solve the problem.
I would really like to start using Impress but this bug no matter what causes
it keeps me back from it for almost a year now. Thanks for any efforts to solve
this issue for me !!
