            Bug ID: 103731
Summary: Ctrl-A crash in large documents
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.0.3.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
When tryping a capital A in a large document, and accidentally hitting Ctrl-A,
Writer crashes trying to "select all". Doc size:15m Characters plus. This
happened also in Open Office before I upgraded O/S to Linux Mint and started as
soon as the document went much above a million characters if I remember
rightly. (it's a book, around 5,000 pages). I have reasons why I want it in one
file.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load a very large document and work on it without saving
2. Press Ctrl-A
3.

Actual Results:
Writer goes into such a long loop trying to select all the text, that it times
out and crashes, er, well It seems to crash, I tried leaving it for an hour or
so, but it had crashed

Expected Results:
Loss of all work since last save, and often a problem even recovering from the
last auto-save, so recovery data usually needs to be discarded and the file
reopened.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
Would it be possible to disable the left Ctrl button so that a miss trype of
Ctrl-A doesn't cause this problem? It's a real nuisance when you have just
tryped a whole page and lose it!
