The usability could be improved, I think:
* The "Text - Choose Encoding (.txt)" entry in the dropdown is misleading in
this case as it implies you will get opportunity to choose a new encoding.
* It's not particularly obvious that "Edit filter settings" relates to the
Format drop down list, especially as they align themselves to opposite sides of
the dialog.
* Could the filter setting default to checked, with the settings in any
subsequent dialogs defaulting to the last used settings? This would at least
produce default behaviour similar to the other cases.
