If I'm not wrong you can do it easily creating the math formula on
Draw/Impress/Calc/Writer:
Menu/Insert/Object/Formula
Select the formula object
Menu/File/Export/, mark 'Selection' and select the file type.
Draw and Impress has more file types to select than Calc and Writer.
