Bug ID: 104433
Summary: pdf as a main container (opdf, odt.pdf)
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Printing and PDF export
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Hi,
I find myself to often edit an odt, then export it to pdf to send it to my
coworkers. Wouldn't be great if we can only work with only one document. We can
imagine to have a file like my_document.odt.pdf which is a pdf with a nested
odt inside. We would be able to open it with a pdf viewer, but also open it for
edition with LibreOffice.
In the case of opening it with LibreOffice, we could work on it and save our
work by simply click save, which will do an "export as pdf and nested the odt
inside it". That way, I could avoid to always have an odt and its exports
synced.
If you consider of having a new extension (opdf, odt.pdf) you could instruct
the OS that it can be oppened with a pdf reader of with a odt editor.
Regards.
