With .pkg files, Admins are able to use Apple Remote Desktop (ARD) to
distribute installations or updates over their network automatically. DMG has
to be installed manually on each computer.
pkg format also will be needed in the future to fix some other annoyances in
Mac install like overwriting system preferences when installing a new version.
