Until this gets attention a work around is to use the =hyperlink() formula
instead of Insert > Hyperlink (Ctrl+K). In hyperlink() the URL can also be
used as the CellText if desired. Regardless of what is used as the CellText
wrapping will work. And, you choose your own background and font colors, if
desired.
