            Bug ID: 106302
Summary: Chart-wizard doesn't detect if data are in rows or
                    columns
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: Inherited From OOo
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Chart

Two data-areas to test the wizard

Open the attached Calc-document. There are two areas with data. One shows the
area with data in rows, the other shows the data with area in columns.
For data with area in rows you could see a chart as it should be shown for
physics in school.
Mark A1:G5.
Start the wizard for creating a chart.
Choose x/y (chatter).
The data won't be detected as data in rows, but as data in columns. You have to
type "Next" and choose "Data-series in rows".

Do the same with data in columns:
Mark A10:B16
Start the wizard for creating a chart.
Choose x/y (chatter).
The data would be shown the right way.

Seems the default has been set to columns.

Most data in school are written in rows. Pupils when starting the wizard and
get such a chart with data in columns. So I see two possibilities to change
this:

1. There could be a possibility set the default in Tools > Options ...
2. The better way: "Data in rows" should be chosen if there are more columns
than rows and "Data in columns" should be chosen if there are more rows than
columns in the marked area.
