Well, to somehow try to narrow down the problem, you could delete individual
elements inside the profile.
First copy the old profile in place (be sure not to delete the backup).
Maybe start with registrymodifications.xcu, then test the bug.
Then try deleting extensions folder, test.
Those might be the most common causes.
If the problem is not in those, continue deleting folders.
