Sorry for gaps between getting back to you, I only use Writer intermittently.
I tried version 5.3.2.2 - it solved the cursor blinking problem, and seems to
have solved the page jumps - HOWEVER I can't print with the new version, and I
no longer have a spell-checker ...
I notice that if I download Libreoffice from the Ubuntu software centre I get 2
(!) copies of Libreoffice listed as installed, plus one copy of Libreoffice
Math, which I never asked for.
By removing Libreoffice & Writer, and then re-installing Writer I end up with
the 5.1 version which at least allows me to print.
I can't help wondering if the downloading / installation process is screwing
up.
