I can no longer reproduce the crash in

I guess it was fixed by one of the recent commits done by Michael Stahl in the
header/footer area but I can't tell which one. Anyway, all his commits are
being backported to 5.3 branch, so this should be fixed in release 5.3.4 as
well.
