It's probably (can't check as I don't have SPSS) the <dimension> element (here
in ./xl/worksheets/sheet1.xml) that is
<dimension ref="A1:B65536"/>
instead of
<dimension ref="A1:B80001"/>
Apparently SPSS ignores any data beyond but sane applications don't.
