Sorry, typo on my part. I meant version 5.3.3.2.
And I opened Draw, went to open, chose the pdf file and clicked open. Then
writer opened up as my screenshot showed.
I just tried opening Draw, then opening a pdf file as an image (Insert - Image
- pdf then document I wanted) and got a fatal error (screenshot added). Same
result with Writer.
On my Windows 10 machine, also using Libreoffice 5.3.3.2, I'm able to open up
the pdf file in Draw with no problem.
