Alex - Thank you for feedback on this and bug 109535. Two points though.
You mention that this control and the toolbar are the same. However, the
images posted in bug 109535 shows this control working (without theme present)
while the toolbar does not. If the same, why different reaction?
Also, I see a problem with you comment about "..it only occurs the very first
time. Once the screen is refreshed in any way, the problem disappears."
I don't see this (using Mint 18).
Changing workspaces doesn't help one bit. Minimizing does clear the immediate
problem. However, with every new record added the overwriting continues.
