Patrick: I thought this might interest you.
attachment 67336 is the desired rendering of attachment 67335
It exposes several issues, most are old. A regression against the new renderer
is the gradients turning blocky (hard edges).
Also note attachment 116589 which is a more recent and more complete test file.
