CPU threads: 8; OS: Windows 6.19; UI render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US); Calc: group
I have tried to insert image PNG and JPG in Writer 5.4.2.2 and it works for me.
Maybe you can install fresh version and try it. Good luck!
