I'm having the same issue after updating from 5.2 to 5.3.6.1:

As you can see, scrolling is still OK with an empty or almost empty sheet. But
as soon as there is some more data, the lagging starts!
My system is:
Windows 10 64-bit
i7-6820HK 2.70GHz
32GB RAM
nVidia GTX 970M
