In 5.3.1 an additional space after the chapter number in a Table of Content was
introduced. You can test it with attachment 132787 of bug 44282.
Illustration and table indexes are not affected.
5.3.0 wasn't affected. 5.3.2 and later versions are also affected.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open the mentioned Writer file.
2. Update the table of indexes.
Actual result:
2.1 Heading level 2 ................. 2 -1
Expected result:
2.1 Heading level 2 ................. 2-1
