I didn't think of that :-). One downside: it's pretty definitive; I can't make
a change to the shape anymore after conversion to bitmap.
I have another example. Which can be archived with FontWork, but not with a
longer text in a text box.
I can approach it by selecting a corresponding font color manually (but it's
cumbersome). And with transparency I can switch the background without carrying
to much about the font (the color will adapt to the new background)
The most flexibility would be to set the transparency for the type strokes.
Setting the transparency for a shape/textbox in total (so not the area or
border line) would work to.
Similar things can be done in photo editing software. I would expect it to be
in DTP software as well.
