Actually, I take my previous comment back. It was pointed out to me that even
if the toolbar just has a typeface selector and the B and I buttons, in the
right-click:Character...:Font dialog there is a separate "Style" selector
(sadly called "Typeface" on the Mac), and with that one can select any of the
styles the typeface is available in. For instance, for the Overpass typeface,
"Thin Italic".
