Bug ID: 115577
Summary: Missing version control / checkin documents in git
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: unspecified
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: filters and storage

I'm currently having some trouble with an impress presentation that is updated
quite often and around 30MB of size (contains pics and videos), and keeping
older versions of the file in a directory occupies around 700MB.

structure, instead of a zip file structure, and the given answer was, that this
will not be done since this is not an Open Document defined standard. On the
other hand, Oasis does not seem to make any effort to make this part of a

However, that current situation is unpleasant, and I'd like to propose to
implement this (maybe call it 'experimental'), it would be really useful.

Just store things in a git repository as you would in a zip file, and allow to
maintain this structure with git.
