Doesn't look like a regression: I can already reproduce in 3.6.7.
I do step 2 simply by starting to type when the image is selected. I also tried
by simply inserting new text boxes with F2.
Let's ask the design team, if text formatting should be remembered when
inserting new shapes, images and text boxes.
