Clearly the PDF you attached has the problem, but unfortunately I cannot
reproduce it (on Windows 10). I tried 5.4.
You could try with a fresh master as it is easy to install in parallel:
https://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/Win-x86_64@42/current/
Could it be something about the font used?? Because Dieter (I assume) and me do
not have the font installed.
