Thank you for the workaround. I used the one from comment 6. I took me a while
to figure out where to input the text. For future reference: click on the image
and start typing.
I created a caption style which I can apply to the text, reducing some clicking
and remembering how things work.
My +1 for a caption field, like in writer.
