Bug ID: 117873
Summary: On macOS, settings dialogs should ideally be non-modal
and immediately-acting
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: Mac OS X (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: UI
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
To match the look and feel of more native apps, dialogs should not be modal.
Also, they should not have any "OK" and "Cancel" buttons but just apply changes
right away.
How hard it is to actually implement something like this I don't know. Also, at
least Pages doesn't even seem to have the corresponding separate dialogs
related to formatting as LibreOffice does, but instead relies on its "sidebar"
(if that is the right term). Possibly we can't do that in LibreOffice, though,
if for instance not all the stuff in the Character dialog is available through
the sidebar.

Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
