A RTFM issue perhaps? Check your user profile.
Otherwise, have a look at Tools -> Options -> LO Cacl -> Formula panel.
What is the "Formula syntax:" droplist showing? Reset there to either Excel
flavor and resave document to OOXML .xlsx or MS binary .xls format.
Also, if you are on a 4.2.8.2 build, that was rolled Dec 2014 and hit EOL
January 6, 2015--would suggest a more current/supported build [1]
