Bug ID: 120307
Summary: Simplify network administration
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.0.6.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: LibreOffice
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
I recently had to change Cache settings for all workstations in an office where
large documents are regularly edited, causing CPU usage to stay at levels like
50%. I think it would be a very good enhancement to allow the following:
Create a config file in system wide application data (such as /etc/libreoffice
in Linux) which can optionally contain default values for all options visible
in Expert Configuration. By default this file should not exist or be empty.
For each setting, you can optionally have two values - for example:
org.openoffice.Office.Common.Cache.GraphicManager.TotalCacheSize=400000
If this value is specified, then the LO default (and even user defined value)
is ignored and the system wide setting is used.
org.openoffice.Office.Common.Cache.GraphicManager.TotalCacheSize.force=yes|no
By adding this second setting, you can make one of these system wide settings
over-writable by users by setting force=no. Therefore the default should be
"yes" if not specified.
