             Bug #: 54725
Summary: SLIDESHOW: libreoffice presentation hangs on intel
                    gen4 hardware with sna
    Classification: Unclassified

          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED

         Component: Presentation
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [email protected]

This is a weird bug...

Using libreoffice from libreoffice.org, on ubuntu linux precise, on computers
with gen3 and gen4 intel graphics and the graphics driver configured to use the
more efficient sna acceleration architecture, the impress slideshow hangs when
you change slide.

The bug is weird because of a few reasons

1) It only happens with libreoffice debs from libreoffice.org or with
openoffice debs from apache. If you use libreoffice debs from ubuntu (namely
using system libraries) it does not happen.

2) It only happens with sna acceleration. If you use uxa it does not happen

3) It only happens with compositing on in the window manager.

4) It is only the presentation hanging. Libreoffice remains alive. Say that you
start the presentation. You click to move to the next slide ... it works. You
click again ... it hangs ... you click again nothing happens. You press esc and
exit the presentation. Libreoffice is perfectly alive. Not only: it is at slide
4, not at slide 2!

Note... even if the combination of items necessary to trigger the bug seems
complicated it is not. Intel graphics is going to default to sna very soon and
I think that it would be better to understand/fix this before that happens.

BTW on ubuntu precise, the libreoffice build from libreoffice complains while
loading opengl because of
/opt/libreoffice3.6/program/../ure-link/lib/libstdc++.so.6: version
`GLIBCXX_3.4.15' not found. I do not know if this is relevant or not.
