Couldn't reproduce with
Version: 6.2.0.0.alpha0+

CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.18; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); Calc: threaded
It looks like all images are embedded now.
Could you please check if your problem has been solved?
