Which should avoid any running of xmlsecurity / X509 / GnuPG code, _unless_ the
document contains digital signatures. So that would be the first thing that
needs checking (version of libreoffice _actually_ running, and if one of the
documents has signatures)

The ps trace itself is not telling much, perhaps ps aux --forest might - still
I don't see the problem, so can't do much about it.

One theory: gpg2 waits for another service, keyserver or whatnot, and that is
blocked or filtered. Still, that should eventually timeout. Or is there some
SELinux or other advanced syscall filtering (e.g. containers) going on?
