Could reproduce also on Linux.
Culprit seems to be a wrong sheet reference in
<c:chart>...<c:val><c:numRef> e.g.
<c:f>sheet1 $A$1:$A$3</c:f>
instead of
<c:f>Sheet1!$A$1:$A$3</c:f>
