Hi,
Recently, I tried Focuswriter. I found it might benefit Writer if either a
minimalist mode was added, adding these option to the full-screen editing mode:
1.) Option to hide the scroll bars until mouse over/hover.
2.) Option to omit "Full Screen" button, see:

3.) Add drag mode/hand, see: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=54469
4.) Option to make the background the same as the workspace/border.
5.) Allow the user to use a full-page tiled paper texture for the purpose of
reducing eyestrain by giving the user a background to also look at. The current
texture and color options do not work for this purpose. I think that this
texture should linked and not embedded into the document, because embedded
would add to a document's size, and this feature is meant as an UI centric
enhancement only. In using ebook readers such as FBReader and Coolreader, I
found that adding a texture can reduce eyestrain LCD monitors.
I feel that these options will add value beyond that available in other word
processors.
