It seems this still isn't resolved for gtk3?
I used bibisect to find the commit which changed focus behavior for docking
windows between gtk2 and gtk3. It is an awesome tool for debugging. Kudos to
all who have contributed to it!
On confirmation I will provide more details and a possible solution.
